#this is the first time that River actually meets Rory #since she became River #after the whole Let’s Kill Hitler incident #just look at her expression #she hasn’t seen him in a few years #since she had to kill the Doctor #since he last knew her as his childhood friend #who regenerated into a psycho killer crazy woman #and he still has no idea who she is  #because this Rory hasn’t experienced that yet #and she’s just like #“look, Dad, look what i did today” #“Dad it’s my birthday”  #i mean just look at how excited she is #it’s a mixture of happiness in seeing him #wanting him to see her for who she really is #that yearning for parental love and affection #that she was deprived of as a child #while at the same time still hesitant #because she still feels guilty for having killed the doctor #and knowing the pain she caused both him and her mother #and feeling so guilty for that too
